Walt Disney World Theme Parks After Dark

There was a period of time, when the kids were small, that we never saw the parks in the dark. A good night’s sleep was critical for our middle son, and no one wanted to upset his routine, afraid of the repercussions the next day. No one. Fast forward a few years later and we re-discovered the joys of Disney in the Dark. Magic Kingdom After Dark There is nothing like entering the Haunted Mansion while it is dark and eerie outside. Or, as you round the corner on Splash Mountain, catching a glimpse of the castle all lit up. Big Thunder Continue reading Walt Disney World Theme Parks After Dark

Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror: Do You Dare?

A fan of Disney? That’s me! A fan of heavy duty thrill rides? Not me. So when The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror first opened in 1994, I had no interest in riding. But my dear friend and fellow Disney nut encouraged me to join her. Her son, a Cast Member, had been one of the lucky ones to “try it out” during the final testing phases and he was going to join us. At the time, there was only one sequence. You entered the car, rode around for a bit then one short drop, one hefty drop and you Continue reading Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror: Do You Dare?

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: A Backstage Thrill Ride

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in July 1999. It’s a fast-paced coaster that will take you upside down, twisting and turning through the “streets” of Los Angeles, racing to get you to the concert on time. Guests enter the lobby of G-Force Records, decorated with various music industry memorabilia. It just so happens that Aerosmith is recording and guests are invited into the studio to take a listen. The band is just finishing up and their manager appears. Apparently, they are late for their next show. Steven Tyler feels bad that the visit has been Continue reading Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: A Backstage Thrill Ride

Why You Need To Try Hollywood Studio’s 50’s Primetime Café One More Time

I was moved to write about 50’s Primetime Café in Hollywood Studios for a number of reasons. We hadn’t eaten there in a very long time. There was a reason we hadn’t eaten there in a very long time. Tips for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights

When I first heard about The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios I thought, “Ehh, Christmas lights on the buildings. How spectacular is that?” Ignoring the advice of the experts, we arrived late, on an incredibly crowded night and attempted to experience the phenomenom. It was, in a word, SPECTACULAR! Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights arrived at Continue reading Tips For The Must-See Osborne Family Spectacle Of Lights

And Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye — To The Iconic Sorcerer’s Hat

By now, it’s old news. Three days old, that is. But Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios will be dismantling the iconic Sorcerer’s Hat in early 2015. And three days later members of our family are both mourning and celebrating the loss. The 122 foot hat appeared in 2001 as a “temporary” fixture to celebrate Walt Disney’s 100th birthday with their “100 Years of Magic” celebration. And there are other rumors to suggest it was installed to block the prominent view of the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard when the real Chinese Theater in California changed ownership. Apparently, the new owners wanted a royalty Continue reading And Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye — To The Iconic Sorcerer’s Hat

Have an idea Continue reading The Ultimate One Day Plan For Disney’s Hollywood Studios
