The Magical Evenings of Walt Disney World

I am a morning person. But for Disney? I can be a night owl. The magical evenings of Walt Disney World are something everyone should experience. Here are my top reasons why: Except for high holidays (we witnessed a 5 hour wait for Test Track on New Year’s Eve), the parks tend to empty out as it gets closer to closing. This means, shorter waits for the high profile attractions. The evening entertainment should not be missed. Our favorites include Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios and Illuminations at EPCOT. While everyone is exhausted and watching the evening fireworks and parades, high profile attractions Continue reading The Magical Evenings of Walt Disney World

Tricks To Make Your Trip Even More Magical

Magic Kingdom

Even if you’ve been to Walt Disney World 50 times, there are always new tricks to learn to make your trip more magical! Read on for a few of my favs! Always, always, ALWAYS arrive at least 30 minutes before a park’s scheduled opening. The parks are much less crowded first thing in the morning and you can get a lot done in those first few hours. Late in the afternoon visit another park (or the same one) refreshed and with Continue reading Tricks To Make Your Trip Even More Magical

The Perfect One Day EPCOT Plan

EPCOT is over twice the size of Magic Kingdom but it’s still possible to tackle in one day. Just follow the tips below! Plan on arriving at the EPCOT parking lot no later than 8:00am. You want to arrive at the gates before 9am. Once you pass through the gates, go under Spaceship Earth and veer to the right toward Future World West. Save Spaceship Earth for later in the day when the lines tend to be shorter. Note: Look for the information boards in both Future World West and East. You can check this throughout the day for updated information about queue Continue reading The Perfect One Day EPCOT Plan

Sometimes You Just Have To Stop And Look At The Ducks

“Mommy! Look at the ducks!” My 3-year-old was tugging at my hand. We had a late start that morning and there was no way we were going to make it to the park before rope drop. My mom and dad were racing ahead to catch the boat to Hollywood Studios which was just pulling up to the dock. I was torn. I wanted to keep up with my parents but I wanted to honor my daughter’s thrill at seeing the ducks. Waving wildly at my daughter and I, my parents won. I tugged gently on my daughter’s hand and said, “Honey, Continue reading Sometimes You Just Have To Stop And Look At The Ducks

The Best Disney Advice I’ve Ever Received

Arrive at the park at least 30 minutes before rope drop. Simple, right? But I have to admit, I heard that advice a thousand times before I actually put it into practice. Once I did, I never looked back. Before the mid 1990’s, and because I had been to Walt Disney World so many times, I never saw the need to get to the parks early. We were a “fly by the seat of our pants” kind of family. We didn’t need a schedule. If an attraction had a long line, we just moved on to the next attraction. But as Continue reading The Best Disney Advice I’ve Ever Received
