The Disney EPCOT Resorts Primer

Staying on Disney property has many perks. But with more than 25 resorts to choose from where should you stay?

Often overlooked, the cluster of deluxe EPCOT resorts have so much to offer and are some of our favorite places to stay.

What’s Not To Love?

They’re within walking distance of EPCOT. They have fabulous boardwalk nightlife with restaurants, bars, bakery, and entertainment. There is super easy access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And with the addition of the new Skyliner transportation system, there are added transportation value options, as well!

Here is a breakdown of each resort so you can pick the best resort for your next visit.

Be sure and slide down the Shipwreck Slide at Beach and Yacht Clubs Stormalong Bay!

Beach Club Resort

This resort is our personal favorite. We love to dine at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Beach Club is the closest resort to EPCOT. It’s an easy stroll, there and back, perfect for burning off the dessert you splurged on. My husband loves how it reminds him of growing up in New England. The kids love the 3-acre Stormalong Bay pool, complete with “sandy” bottom, zero-entry points, shipwreck water slide, and lazy river. And Cape May Cafe features seafood extravaganza buffet in the evenings or Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast, for fun character dining.

Stroll along the Boardwalk for tasty treats and evening nightlife.

Boardwalk Inn

Another easy walk to EPCOT and Disney Hollywood Studios (depending on room location), this resort sits on the Boardwalk between the two parks. This seaside resort has easy access to restaurants and carnival games located on the boardwalk along Crescent Lake. If you enjoy the nightlife, (and love to boogie) this resort has it all: cafes, fine dining, dance hall, sports bars, carnival games, street performers and even Surrey bike rentals.

Swan & Dolphin

Technically not a Disney resort (explained here), the Swan and Dolphin resort is two resorts in one, managed by the Marriott brand. It tends to be a little cheaper than the other EPCOT deluxe resorts and benefits from all of the same Disney amenities, namely transportation, extra magic hours and accessibility to Walt Disney World resorts. Discounts are also more readily available. Ask about educator discounts if they apply for you!

Swan and Dolphin (run by Marriott) enjoy many of the perks of a true Disney resort.

Yacht Club

Similar to the New England feel of Beach Club, Yacht Club is a little more grand, a little more quiet but certainly just as convenient as the other EPCOT resorts. It shares full access to Stormalong Bay water park with Beach Club. And if you’re a steak lover? You’ve got to try Yachtsman’s Steakhouse. I’m still dreaming about the cognac truffle butter that they float on top of the Black Angus Filet. Mmmmm.
