The Magical Evenings of Walt Disney World

The Magic Of Evenings At Walt Disney World

I am a morning person. But for Disney? I can be a night owl. The magical evenings of Walt Disney World are something everyone should experience. Here are my top reasons why:

  1. Except for high holidays (we witnessed a 5 hour wait for Test Track on New Year’s Eve), the parks tend to empty out as it gets closer to closing. This means, shorter waits for the high profile attractions.
  2. The evening entertainment should not be missed. Our favorites include Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios and Illuminations at EPCOT.
  3. While everyone is exhausted and watching the evening fireworks and parades, high profile attractions are empty. My daughter and I, during a crowded trip in June, were trapped by parade watchers. So, we took advantage of the non-existent lines for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. We were able to run back and forth, riding multiple times, with no wait! We had a blast!
  4. Besides the shorter lines for attractions, experiencing Tower of Terror or Haunted Mansion in the late evening makes for a more thrilling ride. Seeing the castle lit up from the highest point of Splash Mountain is mesmerizing.
  5. Cooler temperatures in the peak of summer is my husband’s ploy to get me to venture out at night. And it works! So much better than sweating with the masses during the heat of the day.
  6. If you are staying on property, the resort pools are open 24/7. No need for sunscreen and the pools are quieter and less crowded. Perfect for relaxing after a day at the parks.
  7. Magical surprises are found at every park. Look for the dancing-light fountains or the illuminated sidewalks. Even guests can participate with glow sticks brought from home or special light-up toys, necklaces and crowns purchased from street vendors.

Any time of day is great time to be at the parks, but evenings carry their own special magic!

  1. Great information! My husband and I just recently went to Disneyworld for our honeymoon and had a blast! Disney is so amazing at truly being what they say they are: The Most Magical Place on Earth. 🙂
