Honor National Ice Cream Sandwich Day At Walt Disney World

Yep. You heard right. Today is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day. And what better way to celebrate than with an ice cream sandwich at Walt Disney World.

There are many ways and places to enjoy an ice cream sandwich at Disney. There are standard Mickey shaped sandwiches, similar to the Mickey bar, that you can find in just about any park or quick service restaurant in your resort.

And then there’s the ginormous, 6″, as big as your face Ice Cream Cookie sandwich made famous at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom. Don’t let the price tag fool you. With 3 scoops of ice cream squished between 2 giant homemade chocolate chip cookies, you get your money’s worth. And the best thing? This snack, that is as big as a meal, qualifies as a snack credit if you’re using the Disney Dining Plan.

Some of the resort counter service restaurants carry this humongous ice cream & cookie celebration.  We enjoyed ours at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Port Orleans Riverside French Quarter resort.

You can also find slightly smaller versions of this satisfying treat at Dino-Bite Snacks in Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Scoops in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom.
