Blue Angles Fly Over Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World is a “no-fly zone.” But not today!

Photos above were captured by fellow Disney fan, Jay Kurko, as the Blue Angels, an elite group from the United States Navy and Marine Corps, flew over Magic Kingdom. I got chills as I looked over his photos and a tiny bit teary when I watched the video.

I’m from a big military family. From fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. To uncles and cousins. And, most recently, my dear, sweet niece. I’ve seen the Blue Angles in person a number of times, but to see them at Walt Disney World? Nothing short of pure magic!

If you are serving in the United States Military or have served, take advantage of the many discounts Walt Disney World periodically offers. Currently, discounted tickets for 4-day park hoppers at $177 are available for a limited time. They are also offering discounted room rates at various property resorts from now until October 3, 2015 with very limited black out dates.

And then, of course, there is always Shades of Green, a military only resort in a central location. The rooms are a bit larger with Disney bus transportation to all of the parks. The resort is owned by the US Department of Defense and all of its profits go back into the maintaining and improving the resort. The resort motto is “Serving Those Who Serve.” Room rates are based on rank on a sliding scale.
