Throwback Thursday: Having A Little Phone Fun In EPCOT

I wrote this post a few months ago. I came across a picture from one of our previous trips and I remembered what fun we had, one hot summer day. My daughter and I sent my sons into the  UK phone booth at EPCOT and then secretly called them to see if they’d answer. They did. And we all had a good laugh. Then, while waiting for my husband, we called again. We told the people who answered how much we loved their Mickey shirt or handbag. We wished them a magical day. We had a blast.

I wrote the below post so you could join in the fun. But then, as I entered the tags for my post, my blogging platform alerted me to other articles of a similar topic and I discovered the phones were disconnected in July 2013, just after our trip.

Maybe it was too expensive to keep them operational. Maybe people were abusing the privilege of using the phones. Whatever the reason, I am sad to see them go.

I decided to still post the numbers, in the hopes that Walt Disney World will reconsider this fun, little distraction. Maybe if we all keep trying……….

…..and if you have any luck, please let us know!

It’s hot. You’re exhausted. And you just need a little breather.

Snag a cool beverage and c’mon.

Let’s have a little fun!

You’ve seen these in the United Kingdom section of EPCOT. But did you know they work? As in, they can receive incoming calls.

And I am going to share the phone numbers with you so you can sit on a bench and have a little fun.

Left booth: (407) 827-9862

Center phone: (407) 827-9863

Right booth: (407) 827-9861

Happy dialing!

(Update: I just heard that the booth in Canada may still be operational. I’m here at Watt Disney World now, so I’m going to give it a try. Here’s the number for those of you who are visiting the magic, as well!  Canada Phone Booth: (407) 827-9884)
